Firelight Programming 2024!

The programming is finally done for Firelight Gathering 2024. We have lots of  great workshops and events for you to choose from!

Thursday

  • 8pm Opening Ritual with Tasha and Hobbes Firepit
  • 9pm Gathering Around the Firelight Firepit
    Gather around the firepit and share in the Firelight. There will be drumming, socializing, dancing, music, and great fun beneath the stars.

Friday

  • 1pm Introduction to Poi with Erik
    Come and spend 1.5 hrs learning the basic starters needed to spin poi. You’ll learn planes, walls, spins, & counter spins, and advanced techniques like turns and the butterfly. Will have practice poi for sale at the workshop.
  • 2:30pm Archery with Morgan (13yr+)
    Join us for an archery session! For all levels of experience, learn how to shoot a bow, focusing on mindfulness and connecting with the body. (limited loaner equipment)
  • 3:30pm Death Meditation with Marissa
    How is your relationship with death? In this type of meditation, we will gently explore the process of dying and the value of developing our relationship to it.
  • 6pm Murder on the Whispering Pines Train Mystery with Nancy
    Get dressed up in 1930’s style and use your detective brain to figure out who did it! There are 12 roles to choose from and the scripts are provided. BYO chair.
  • 8pm Renewal Ritual with Tasha
  • 9:30pm Role Call with Kestrel
    Come if you dare! Not for the faint of heart. This game, played in pitch dark, will give you wonderful thrills and terrifying chills!!
  • 10pm Gathering Around the Firelight Firepit
    Gather around the firepit and share in the Firelight. There will be drumming, socializing, dancing, music, and great fun beneath the stars.

Saturday

  • 8:30am Morning Yoga Stretch with Lynn
  • 10am Apothecary Book Build
    Come and build your own hidden apothecary book. This cute little book opens up to a wonderful surprise. $15 for materials.
  • 11am Friendship Bracelets with Terri
    Come make friendship bracelets with us. We will show to make one basic and two more challenging styles. Materials Included.
  • 1pm Introduction to Poi with Erik

  • 1pm Stone Soup with Danica
    To contribute to the Stone Soup, leave your sliced/chopped/ prepared food donation in a sealed bag in the cooler with The Kilt Lady by 1pm. Provide a detailed list of what’s in your donation so we can know what’s in the soup!
    Veggies only: No meat, pasta, or rice. Contributors get first dibs on the Stone Soup!
  • 2-4pm Faerie Tea Garden ($5)
    Allow yourself to be whisked away to the land of the Fae where the tea is always brewed just right, and the scones are delightfully light. By the Fae Queen’s grace, anyone who consumes food will not be trapped for 700 years.
  • 2:30pm Science and the Craft with Danica (90 mins)
    Which came first: the people or their gods? This workshop aims to open a conversation about the cross-play between making magic, the gods, and what science tells us. Where do they overlap, and where do they play with each other. Let’s take some of the mystic out of mysticism.
  • 2:30pm Archery with Morgan

  • 3:30pm Poetry Circle with Cynthia
    Come and flex your creative muscles! Write some poetry on the fly with prompts supplied by Cynthia and see where inspiration takes you! BYO pencil and paper!
  • 4pm Slavic & Celtic Floral Crown Workshop with Dot
    Learn about the symbolism of floral crown making and create a floral crown that is unique to you to use in your spiritual practice or for special event.
    $20 per person for floral supplies fee / 10 person minimum for workshop to occur
  • 5:30pm Community Potluck Meal
    Join us for our community meal where we can all share in the bounty of the good earth. Bring your own bowls/plates/ utensils. Please include a card that lists the main ingredients (nuts, gluten-free, dairy-free, etc.). Please collect your leftovers by 8pm.
  • 6pm Scotch Sharing with Caycee (19+ yrs)
    Bring us your favorite bottle of Scotch Whiskey and a sampling glass. Let’s introduce each other to the Waters of Life and find out why they that it’s sweeter than honey and stronger than steam.
  • 8pm No Tears Bardic
    Sign-up for the No Tears Bardic at registration (entertainment without judgment!). Limited spots available and sign-up is a Registration.
  • 10:30pm Gathering Around the Firelight
    Gather around the firepit and share in the Firelight. There will be drumming, socializing, dancing, music, and great fun beneath the stars.

If you pre-register now, you get to save a few bucks on the registration (that you can then spend on the vendors).

You can use the Google Form (the easiest option) or you can download the Word document, fill it out, and send it to fgfestival.info@gmail.com.

You can only send your payment via your Bank/Interac to fgfestival.info@gmail.com.

NEW!: There is a new festival at Thornhaven (Inkerman, Ontario) in September 2024 called The Cernunnos Festival. If you register for both festivals, you’ll get 15% off your registration for both festivals. It’s a deal endorsed by the Gods!
