Firelight Gathering 2025 Starts Now!
It’s Thursday, August 14th, which is the first day of the 11th Edition of Firelight Gathering 2025! We’re all very excited to see you at Whispering Pines campground.
You can download a phone friendly version of the Firelight 2025 program right here.
About the Fire Ban
As we all know, this summer has been unbearably hot and dry, which has resulted in many, many uncontrolled forest fires across the country. The area in which Firelight Gathering takes place has been under a fire ban since August 2nd, and will still be in effect this weekend.
This means that NO OPEN FLAMES are allowed at the campground. This includes campsite fires, flame candles, and no central bonfire. Bummer. The only exception are propane gas stoves for cooking (no open flame firebowls).
But Firelight fest goers are creative! So everyone is digging out their twinkly lights and charging up their battery packs. If you have an old plastic Yule tree in the basement, bring it along and light it up with your Yuletide lights!
A Quick Firelight Checklist
To be adequately prepared for Firelight, make sure you check these off:
-
Bring battery-powered twinkly lights to decorate your campsites!
-
Stone Soup (vegan): if you want to take part, bring a bag of your pre-chopped veggies.
-
Community Potluck: Include a card that lists what’s in your potluck offering so that people can make informed choices.
-
Bring your own plates, bowl, cup, and utensils to keep waste at a minimum.
-
Bring your own potable water, although bottled water will be available.
-
Check the program for events that require pre-registration, then pre-register for those events.
-
Because there’s no central fire, bring warm clothes for the evening gatherings.
